He was called the first surreal photographer in America. Most of the collages are staged and then photographed. It makes for some very interesting work.

1 03 2015I love this guy’s work. Andrew Mamo. It’s as if you superimposed the fantastic upon ambiance. I hear a siren. Which reminds me of the story. Of a friend of mine who was taken away by the police in handcuffs. And kept asking them if he could show them a card trick.

I love the use of landscape in his work. And the monochrome colours. Some of my work has used this same kind of landscape mixed with the fantastic. It works well with turn of the century (19th to 20th) cityskapes.
