Daniel E. Greene

Daniel E. Greene is a successful artist. That’s the feeling you get from his work. (Also because his painting of Eleanor Roosevelt was presented to Mrs. Clinton when she was first lady at the White House.) He’s also a pretty good artist. His subway series is very interesting. It almost looks post-apocalyptic. There are very few people in these paintings. Perhaps this reflects old age when so many of our old friends become dead. Or worse, Republicans.

His work has the look of Americana (East Coast Version). And it is nostalgic. For something that has passed. And must have been better.
