BLU and David Ellis

This is another one of these collages/animations in which the environment is the canvas. There must be a lot of preparation time involved in this. I’m wondering if they do all of this on paper first and then shoot it. You’d have to have some kind of script. What is so intesting is that they include the artists in the animation as well and yet your eyes are riveted to the story line.

Alexa Meade

Alexa Meade is an exciting artist. She mixes the real and the image into photos that are mind bending. Like have one of Rubens women walk out onto a beach. Or a Bosch character selling beer on TV. This is what she has to say about her work.

I paint representational portraits directly on top of the people I am representing. The models are transformed into embodiments of the artist’s interpretation of their essence. When captured on film, the living, breathing people underneath the paint disappear, overshadowed by the masks of themselves.”

Faces of fashion

Its late. This is another Philip Scott Johnson’s video. This one is on the faces of fashion. Funny that you know what the trick is but you can’t stop looking. I enjoy this morphing business so much that I downloaded a simple program and tried a few things. Of course there is no way I would try and duplicate the technical skills of Mr. Johnson. But its fun to play with.
